Growing up an Army brat allowed me the opportunity to experience multiple parts of the U.S. and Europe at a young age. Exposure to different types of architecture had an influence on my decision to pursue a career in design, but funnily enough, playing the computer game Sims 2 had the most impact.

I received my B.S. in Interior Design from Georgia Southern University in 2016, and moved to Austin shortly after. Since graduation, I’ve discovered a love for drafting and the construction side of interior design. In 2021, I started Mikaela Meyering Drafting & Design in order to focus on the aspects of design I’m passionate about. It has allowed me the opportunity to work with multiple designers and builders in the Austin area, and refine my skills as both a drafter and designer. I aim to produce detailed drawings that make the build process as efficient as possible, and to design spaces that make everyday life more comfortable.

I currently live in South Austin with my boyfriend, Ryan, and my two dogs, Scott and Posey. When not working, I can usually be found playing soccer, baking, or admiring my many house plants.
